r u kidding me,p square and faze realli deserve an award cause of their hype last year and this year,i have same sentiments with that asa as well wats the big deal with her song im sorry but i think we nigeriand can be gullible at times, theres fire on the mountain and she added some acoustics and nice video but not great(tracy chapman copy and paste big deal)and everybody s shouting asa asa up and down, the guitar man or whaeva he is called lost to wande coal common...

im not hating on her,in actual fact i think her song s nice but its been over hyped, check out tracy chapman and asa and u ll discover its like a copy and paste the press in naij have put it to her a couple of times if she s doing the tracy chapman thing but like any artise will answer she said its her thing she makes complete sense, she s hot but she s not unique or fresh common..i like her cause i like tracy chapman too check out tracy chapmans songs and then compare

...so they both play the acoustic guitar, wear their hair same way...errrr to me thats about it, theres no comparing of voice, plus Asa has an African thing bout her voice n their tunes are not the same. yes they are both wonderful women, luv Ms Chapmen, but they are different. plus who cares, how many 50 cents do we have out there  Undecided .

what im tryna say is that now even we r living abroad and we r proud of listening to guys rapping inour native languages, nigerian artise are breaking new grounds and the world is ready to listen to them i believe its an opportunity to showcase what we have and we only get it once so its got to be gotten right if asa was in front of 1 million american audience dyu realli think they r seeing an african indigenous artise or a tracy chapman look alike?i like her as well but im saying she needs to carve out her individul, unique african style because its obvious she is talented instead of going the easy route of the acoustics, piano and tha go check out youssour n dour and his music the americans dont understand a word yet he is wildly accepted and is a multi millionaire in dollars, salif keita, black mambazo of south africa almost all the nigerian artises are talented but go the easy way of the bling bling and tryna be a 50 cent rap if u need to rap but be more african about it cause u cant do hip hop better than the originators america..the onli thing they respect about us is our africaness and not the whole yo yo,i dont see p square even gettn an mtv award even tho they r brilliant cause of this and a lot of them

To be honest with y'all the issue of someone getting an award is a real big issue.  The issue of 2face getting an award on MTV is because of what the most popular African track he released portraits, common his talking about African Queen.  That's one of the reason y d song really travelled far around da world. Likewise the publicity made by Kennis music as well.  Basically African music is really growing big and am really happy for them all, but to be honest we gat a lot of talented musician out there.  Men, P Square how i wish i gat loads of dollars i will just sign them up straight away those guys r flipping good.  Asa is alright on her, i understand the issue of her imitating Tracy Chapman cause the video is quite similar i only saw it once.  After all is still better than the video of African Queen being shot in a studio.  The video doesn't emulate the song itself.  Check out the P square videos, faze as well, they always translate what they are singing about.  African music is all about who Ur manager is if you gat a real good manager then sky is Ur limit.  e.g. D Banj what is he singing about just trash and see where he is all because of Young Jazzy or what is he called sorry don't really know much about Nigerians musicians name so all depends on publicity and the good job of managers.  A lot of encouragement for all of them they should just try and keep the African culture real rather than emulating other peoples culture.
