Oyewole, has worked at the Newark International airport as a security supervisor for about 20 years under the name of Jerry Thomas and has passed background checks and renewed his license every two years with the Department of Customs and Border control.
According to the report, he had all the documents he needed, including a birth certificate and a social security card of the murdered man which may trigger further investigations to find out if he was actually involved in the murder of the original Jerry Thomas.
Oyewole’s employers, FJC Security, said it conducted a background check on the guard as had New Jersey state police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
FJC spokesman Michael McKeon said: “In all cases, he passed the background checks. During his time with FJC, he had nothing in his record or his performance to indicate a cause for concern or a reason to question the state police and federal government’s background checks.”
He is due to appear in court on identity theft related charges.
