Death Trap: Nigerian Commercial airplanes and their ages revealed

Since the Sunday plane crash of the ill-fated Dana aircraft, Nigerians have been asking questions on the general state of air-crafts that fly presently in the country. While some have opted for the road as their major means of transportation no matter the hours wasted, some have continued to rely on destiny, and have not given up on air-crafts as they continue to use the air medium.

However, the curiosity amongst Nigerians and fear of the unknown has culminated into an amazing revelation of the real ages of air-crafts currently operating in Nigeria. It is amazing that an aircraft of over 40 years is being used to fly Nigerians at the moment.

With this revelation, one wonders what the authority will be doing to avert further mass burial that may result from another plane crash. Also with this revelation, it appears Dana airline was only being unlucky to have been the first of the airlines to witness this dreadful moment as worst air-crafts are currently operating in the country.

Dailypost stumbled on a comprehensive list of planes in Nigeria with all the necessary information relation to their functionality and ages. The list was tracked from Planespotters.net, a civil aviation database with over 20000 pictures and information displayed on over 30000 aircrafts flying presently in Nigeria.

Some analysts have stated that if nothing is done to fight this menace in the aviation industry, Nigerians should be ready to shed more tears.

Some people have stated that this development justifies the calls made by the Nigerian Law makers that some stake holders in the aviation industry must as a matter of urgency step aside for sanity to return to the industry.
