This is in view of the dilemma the Nigerian representative, Goldie, was engulfed in the late hours of Monday, June 18, 2012.
Here’s the story:
Once upon a time, there lived a couple (Goldie and Prezzo) in a building (house) along with other occupants. But being the oldest, the landlord (Biggie) appointed the wife as the caretaker.
Then, one sunny Friday, one of the fellow occupants, popular for his nosy character (Roki), tells the wife that the spinster (Manetta) that occupies the room opposite theirs, is flirting with her husband (Prezzo).
A few days later, the landlord comes visiting and observes how dirty his house is. He calls a meeting and asks the tenants to nominate whoever is the dirtiest in the house. Without batting an eyelid, the jealous housewife nominates the spinster and suggests that she be sent away from the house, but unknown to her, her husband was also accused of being dirty and was nominated.
The wife realizes that the spinster is also the person she usually runs to each time her husband insults her. She starts to feel bad and tries to retract her accusation. However, she decides to ask her husband what he would do if any of her friend flirted with him.
Sensing trouble, the smart husband quickly responds ‘I will tell you’ and so, the wife believes him. When it’s was time to save somebody, she puts up a little suspense, but eventually saves her husband, leaving the spinster to the mercy of the landlord.
We’ll have to stay tuned to see if they’ll live ‘happily ever after’ but this is definitely a story that wouldn’t be out of place on a Nollywood set.
