Roger federer has won his 7th wimbledon title at the all grass court to equal pete sampras record of 7th wimbledon titles. In doing so, he also reclaim the world number one title. This has taken his grand slam wins to a total 17. He also won the prize money which was £1.15m.

The win was not plain sailing as Andy murray who was is opponent came into the first set all guns blazing and immediately breaking the eventual winner in the 1st game. Roger managed to break back to level things up but Andy murray was too good for him at the opening stages and went on to break him back to take the 1st set.

Roger won the second set and when the rain came and the court was closed, that gave federer just the advantage to control the game at his pace which was too much for Andy murray.

Eventually, Roger overpowered Andy murray who later busted into tears while giving his speech. For Britain, the wait for the 1st grandslam winner since Fred perry won over 6 decades ago.

Congratulation Roger.
