It has come to our notice that Governments of Abia State and other states have not paid Civil servants who retired from active service from as far back as 1998 or earlier their gratuities.
These Nigerians dedicated their whole life to serving the state and the country at large but are unfairly denied what is due to them, One of the retirees in his late 70's who claimed anonymity for fear of victimisation lamented that the Governor Theodore Orji is inhumane to their plight (Pensioners) despite being a civil servant before joining politics, Investigations revealed that The Governor and his Son has being channelling the state funds into personal real estate investment at the detriment of infrastructural development in the state. It is a pity that these noble men and women are denied their right in their lifetime despite being on poor wages while in service, our source lamented that its painful that after retiring from service 14 years ago that he still hasn't received his gratuity and wondered with the situation of things in the state if the Governor was ever going to do that as it is confirmed he is eyeing a senatorial post after his tenure as Governor and as such much of the state funds will be channelled into his selfish political ambition. In his words, "I may not get my gratuity in my lifetime". This is quite pathetic. Please share this message as so called editors of Naijapals have refused to publish such an important publication.
i'm not from abia state but i've heard alot of negative things about gov. Orji. i was at aba a couple of years ago & i swore never to be there till something is done. abia state is the worst state in the east as far as everything is concerned be it in terms of infrastructure, security just name them, aba used to be called the japan of africa because of the highly productive system it possessed at that time but all have gone sour and most of the assets dilapidated. well, the deed is already done and i personally suggest that it's high time the people of abia state take the bull by the horn as their neighbouring imo state did which they are enjoying today.
