
Ovie Edet (29) and Akeem Kehinde (30) have been remanded in prison custody by an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for conspiracy, assault and attempted murder.
The accused, on July 14, 2012, about 4 pm, allegedly conspired to rob one Zakare Isah, and in the process, stabbed him with a knife and inflicted injuries on his body.
The accused, who were arraigned before Magistrate Taiwo Akanni, pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The magistrate, however, granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 and asked them to present a gainfully employed taxpayer each as surety.
The case was adjourned till Oct. 29.
Similarly, an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court has remanded 25-year-old Emeka Okorie for unlawful assault.
The accused, on July 30, 2012, about 10.30 pm, allegedly assaulted one Rasak Sani on Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, thereby removing two of his teeth with a head butt, which caused him grievous harm.
The accused, who was arraigned before Magistrate Akanni, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
He was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 and a gainfully employed taxpayer as surety.
The case was adjourned till Nov.14, 2012.
