Jonathan approves second term for permsecs

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the renewal of appointments of five permanent secretaries in line with the tenure policy of the Federal Government. A statement by the spokesman for the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOS), Mr. Tope Ajakaiye, said affected permanent secretaries include   Malam Abdullahi Yola of Ministry of Justice whose renewal takes effect from 18th August, Bukar Goni Aji of the Ministry of Works, Mr. Linus Awute of the Ministry of Mines and Steel and Surveyor E.I. Ogbile of the State House whose renewals take effect from October 15.
 Also to take effect from October 15 is the renewal of tenure of Dr. E.O. Oyemoni of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Head of Service Isa Bello Sali said that the five permanent secretaries were recommended based on the positive assessment of their performance in the last four years.

Sali also said that the second term is for a maximum period of four years but terminates on the attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 60 years or 35 years of service.
