Motivational speaker and youth mobilizer, Fela Durotoye, 41, 2 days ago entered the history books by signing 10,000 of his books “17 Secrets of High Flying Students,” in 8 hours 49 minutes!
In an event ahead of the Gemstone Group’s Global Reading Festival which comes to a climax on Saturday with a simultaneous reading of the book in 17 cities and countries around the world, Fela Durotoye embarked on the laudable feat to create awareness for world peace.
But before achieving the incredible milestone at 10pm Nigerian time last night, Durotoye broke the record for ‘most number of books signed in one sitting by a single author’ announcing to the world at 4:23pm Nigerian time on Monday via Twitter:
‘Hi Guys, BREAKING NEWS!! I’ve currently broken the record of the MOST NUMBER OF BOOKS SIGNED IN ONE SITTING BY A SINGLE AUTHOR! FD’
The previous record was held by Aritoli Karpov with 1,951 copies. Karpov, a former chess world champion set the record in 2006.
