The statement then warned the Boko Haram sect that the plan would likely back fire because it will have effect on their members under the custody of the JTF, adding that the JTF “will decisively destroy such attacks on any of its barracks within its area of operational responsibility”.
Recent successful attacks on the Police Headquarters in Abuja, the military’s prime training facility in Jaji, Kaduna State, as well as other security formations across Northern Nigeria, mean that the sect has already shown its capacity to attack military and police formations.
Meanwhile, the statement also called on “Giwa barracks host community particularly owners of houses bordering the barracks to be watchful and quickly alert the JTF of any suspicious movement within their respective vicinity through the following JTF Hot Lines that are operational 080-64174066, 070-85464012, 081-54429346.”
