Information emerging from The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri, Borno State, said it has intelligence that the insurgent group, Boko Haram, is planning to attack Military Barracks in the state. According to a statement by the spokesperson of the JTF, Sagir Musa, Boko Haramplans to “attack military barracks in Maiduguri metropolis particularly the Headquarters 21 Armoured Brigade”.

The statement then warned the Boko Haram sect that the plan would likely back fire because it will have effect on their members under the custody of the JTF, adding that the JTF “will decisively destroy such attacks on any of its barracks within its area of operational responsibility”.

Recent successful attacks on the Police Headquarters in Abuja, the military’s prime training facility in Jaji, Kaduna State, as well as other security formations across Northern Nigeria, mean that the sect has already shown its capacity to attack military and police formations.

Meanwhile, the statement also called on “Giwa barracks host community particularly owners of houses bordering the barracks to be watchful and quickly alert the JTF of any suspicious movement within their respective vicinity through the following JTF Hot Lines that are operational 080-64174066, 070-85464012, 081-54429346.”

I don't trust JTF as much as I don't trust BH. They seemed to be working hand in hand. Two hours before an FGCC School was about to be attacked the JTF chekpoint around the school was temporarily closed. Two hours after they left, BH unleash their terror. Sometime at the end of the year 2013 in Borno State, arrangement was made between Civilian JTF and the JTF to attack BH hideout. Two hours behind the scheduled time, JTF personnel were not there while the Civilian JTF were their holding sticks and cutlasses, waiting for JTF, just for some people in military uniform (who were said to be BH), in a convoy of helux vehicles who exactly appeared like supposed JTF, to appear and start shooting at the youth. They killed more than 20 of them. They said it was BH, but why didn't the JTF came at the arranged time? Why didn't they inform the youth that they were not coming, but sending BH instead?
