Edo: Police nab man for allegedly killing in-law

A man allegedly said to have killed his father-in-law about three years ago and has escaped police arrest has been caught.

The suspect, identified as Oejmeri Agiboye, 22, was allegedly said to have murdered his father-in-law, one Mr. Amuli and the incident was reported at the Afuze Police station on the October 15, 2010.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Folusho Adebanjo, who disclosed this in Benin Thursday said that the suspect, who has been on the run was arrested on February 26, this year.

He said the suspect would be charged to court at the end of police investigation.

Meantime, a 20-year-old Fulani herdsman, Isah Ibrahim Mohammed has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing one Idirisa Jubril, a co-herdsman.

He was said to have conspired with one Ali, now at large to kill Idirisa after which they stole his father's cows.

Isah was arrested on February 26, 2013 while allegedly trying to sell the stolen cows.

In a related development, the police have paraded 12 suspects for various crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and rape with various arms and ammunition recovered from them.

The rape suspect, Patrick Ehidiameh, 40, was alleged to have defiled an 11-year-old girl, an allegation he vehemently denied.
