Popular Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie,  has already addressed this issue in her latest novel;

Quote
That is the best question! My hair is in tiny cornrows; I have a big ponytail on the top of my head. I quite like it. It is natural. I am a bit of a fundamentalist when it comes to black women's hair. Hair is hair – yet also about larger questions: self-acceptance, insecurity and what the world tells you is beautiful. For many black women, the idea of wearing their hair naturally is unbearable.

Wen I read some people comment, u will kn they are commenting wat somebody say negatively not cus they have anythg reasonable to say. D next thg they start d person who decide to say his or her mind.d person who carries her natural long hair must have been plaiting it, wit wat e dnt kn. And person retouching, braiding, fixing and wearing extension wit her has not commit any crime. She only want to luk gud in her own way. D only is as u braid and all kind of thgs wit ur hair make dure u maitai it and eat good food so it won't fall off whether na(ural or retouch.

Not true. Its the other way around. Weaving and sewing for long periods leads to breakage like the picture in this topic like Naomi Campbell's head
