A member of the Borno State school feeding committee, Alhaji Tijjani Mafi; former Government House Acc*@tant, Alhaji Modu Kura Gubio and two others were, on Tuesday, killed by unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the four were killed while on their way to condole with families of one of their associates in Logumani town of Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Though there was no detail yet as to whether the corpses had been brought to Maiduguri as of the time of this report, children of the deceased and the state Commissioner for Education, Musa Inuwa Kubo, were seen at the Government House, making efforts to get police escort to convey the corpses to Maiduguri for burial.
When the Nigerian Tribune called for confirmation at the Joint Task Force (JTF), the spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Sagir Musa, simply said “I will reply you later.”
Also, attempt to get reaction from the police failed, as the Commissioner of Police, Yuguda Abdullahi, said he was busy somewhere and directed that the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Gideon Jibril, be contacted, but all efforts to get the PPRO failed.
In another development, a lecturer at the College of Education, Bama, was burnt alongside members of his family in his house and another teacher at a secondary school in Bama was killed by unknown gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram.
Nigerian Tribune also gathered that the gunmen attacked soldiers at Bama, but effort to get comments of the JTF failed as of the time of going to press.
