Interesting article.

But more importantly, none of them forced their way into the corridors of politics in their respective country's and amassed wealth through fraud.

They came from backgrounds where they were encouraged by literate parents to succeed in whatever they do.

The education they did have was adequate enough to get them going - and thinking how to improve the lives of others!. No school collapsed on them during exam time!

They did not have to "escape" to "countries of greener pastures" before they made it.

They grew up where there are good medical services, technological know-how and so on.

They did business with those equally wanting to do well and not 419ner's!

They helped the less privileged the world over and not for political gain!

They sold goods to the public that work!

We need such people in Nigeria.

We are good at praising Nigerians who do well abroad. This is even when they are not born in Nigeria or have never even set foot in Nigeria - as long as they have a Nigerian "sounding name".  Remember Nigeria thought the William (tennis) sisters had Nigerian "blood" in them because their late sister answered a Nigerian name.

Nigeria is a great nation that should promote homegrown talent so that one day we will be admired by the whole world.

Have a nice day.

i was interested to study a biochemical course in Nigeria, for the entire period i spent trying to achieve this, i never saw the most commonly mentioned chemical called H2So4...this was not funny! nothing like school in Nigeria, what we have is a place where youths gather, meet and share ideas  how to make money either legal or illegal(male) or how to prostitute, socialize and becoming the best girl on campus, sometimes want ppl to see am  also a student(females).Nigeria is one of best places i think ppl that really want to make a difference should drop out and do something practical to help this helpless society.

They might be dropout but their professions or fields are fields that one cannot handle without the knowledge of education/school. They acquire that from school couple with their natural intelligence and creativity.

School is not the basis of survival, Greatness and Wealth. Greatness always comes from within,
if can discover it, then u 'll be celebrated forever. But TIME AND CHANCE happens to them all.
