Two suspected dealers in human parts have been arrested in Ilorin, capital of Kwara State by the state police command.

The suspects were arrested Thursday for allegedly attempting to cart away parts of decomposed of corpses of people from their graves for sale to spiritualists.

Saturday Vanguard reliably gathered that the suspects were caught by residents around Ajia compound in Gambari area of the town and handed over to the police

It was alleged that the suspects seized the opportunity of the on-going road construction between Bolanta junction and Gambari road in the area to allegedly embark on the dastardly act.

The road construction reportedly affected some graves in Ajia compound which were said to have been exhumed by the suspects ostensibly for re-buried elsewhere.

The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Olufemi Fabode confirmed the incident.

He however said the police were still investigating the matter since the two suspects feigned ignorance of the offence they allegedly committed.

One of the suspects was said to have been caught by residents of the area was allegedly carrying a bag containing human parts and clothes used in wrapping corpses.

According to police sources, one of the suspects whose name was given as Saka, who is in his early thirties reportedly sold second- hand clothes in the Bolanta area before abandoning the business and suddenly transformed as a Muslim cleric.

It was learnt that the suspect, thereafter, converted his shop to a consulting office where his clients sought his spiritual help before his landlord who became suspicious of his fraudulent activities evicted him from the shop.`
