That’s how Alibaba sarcastically recalled the first time he met Julius Agwu.
At the Police station, the DPO recognized Bros Ali as the guy on TV and asked him to sign the bail papers of Julius and other guys collected during the raid.
“Meanwhile,” Alibaba told, “there was this twittering guy there… he didn’t have money, he didn’t have popularity but his mouth was the sharpest out of everybody that was there. Later they released him but he was still talking.
Those who told Bros Ali about the Course he read didn’t give him full gist about this sharp-mouthed guy.
Julius Agwu had grated from University of Port Harcourt in 1997, and went to serve in Katsina.
After Orientation Camp, “I left Katsina and arrived Lagos late at night,” Julius Agwu narrated in a story of his life.
The owner of the house he squatted in Lagos told road-weary Julius, he couldn’t sleep in the house that night.
Julius Agwu had no house in Lagos, he had no money to lodge in a Hotel, and it was too late for him to even attempt looking for another place to lay his tired head that night.
“I burst into tears and that night. And I slept under the Staircase…”
What happened the morning after? Who came to his rescue? How did Julius Agwu survive the homeless years in Lagos?
Answers to these questions are available in Julius Agwu’s autobiography, Jokes Apart… How Did I get here.
