UNBELIEVABLE! A Nigerian who does not who Queen Amina of Zazzau (now Zaria) was? UNBELIEVABLE. A Nigerian saying the film titled 'Amina' - a film about loss, love, and redemption had anything to do with Queen Amina!

The film 'Amina' had Omotola playing the lead role and not your Genevieve! Omotola played a woman suffering a mental health breakdown and ends up in a mental institution.

Queen Amina on the other hand, was a Hausa muslim warrior Queen of Zazzau (now Zaria). She is the subject of many legends (lived about 1583). She is considered by some to be 'the first to establish government.' Legend also has it that she forced Katsina, Kano and other regions to pay tribute to her.

UNBELIEVABLE you know nothing of her. What do they teach in History lessons in Nigeria nowadays?

Shame on you.

And I stand by what I commented earlier - the Nigeria film industry should start showcasing to the world our rich cultural history past and present.

King Arthur is a legendary figure in English history and we have many films based on his life!
