Every single student who applied for admission into the University of Liberia failed the school’s admission test, and there were over 25,000 of them!

A university official said students who took the $25 exam did not have a basic understanding of English, the BBC reports, and it was the first time that all entrants failed.

Liberia’s President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has said the country’s education system is still “in a mess” following a civil war that ended a decade ago.

Education Minister Etmonia David-Tarpeh will meet with university officials to discuss the 100 percent failure rate, the BBC reports.

“I know there are a lot of weaknesses in the schools but for a whole group of people to take exams and every single one of them to fail, I have my doubts about that,” David-Tarpeh said. “It’s like mass murder.”

this seem to be a very serious country that take things the way it is,despite its a bad news to hear that 25,000 students that wrote exam, all of them fall, still they did not hesitate or see it as shame to the country, they still say the better truth of all, then, they now know the cause of dilemma, this prove to know a country that want better life in their country, but my country nigeria ll be the last to prove such a truth all the name of money.

I greatly admire the female president of Liberia. She is behaving like someone who wants the best for her nation. We all remember the devastating war Liberia went through 10 years back - and so far if they continue on this track - there is hope.

The "sense of liberty shall set us free" is still there pushing them to real freedom.
This is what makes nation -real giants.

There was no favouritism as i am sure children or others related to goverment officials also took the admissions test.

However they should sit diwn and decide what went wrong. Is the secondary school curriculum not up to scratch or where the admission test questions too difficult or unrelated to what they have been taught in school. For all of them to fail - there is a problem somewhere!

Or is the teachers? Do they too have someone who cannot read their own affidavit or their own 'oga on top?'

I am certain the government will identify the cause and work from there to put things right.
