ahonzi at 3-07-2008 09:08 PM (15 years ago) (m) hey fellas, am knew here.i guess everyone has got the right to be called whatever he/she wants as long as the person is cool with it. our responsibilities as people who know them is to call them by their names be it "broke, pimp, fag,..." whatever, it's theirs and sulking about it is all but a waste of time. fjoeaug at 4-09-2008 04:36 PM (15 years ago) (f) 1st of all, their should be traditional boy names and girl names. E.g in the Igbo tradition, how can I name my son Chijioke when my friends daughter is Chijioke, my daughter is Chika at the same time my bro's son is Chika , my son is Chinonso at the same time my daughter is Chinonso , I can't agree to answer Uzoamaka or Uche(thank god that's not my name) when my friend who is a girl is Uzoamaka or Uche , one day I'll her a boy answer . Yoruba names, some boys and girls at the same time answer: Bukola, Abiola, Abimbola, Ajibola and some other ola, ola, ola 2ndly, some people should answer names of adjectives and some other funny English names Names like John, Sonia, Sarah, Timothy, Peter, Samuel, Valentine, Sasha etc are OK, but some funny names like Blessing, Success, Messiah, Patience, Gift, Major etc shouldn't go. If you're answering these kind of names, don't feel offended O but I would change my name if I you dats d problem with some naija like u, u 4got where u came 4rm(dat d naming tradition has being b4 u were born) n d names have thier diff lovely meanings. DONT 4GET U ARE A NIGERIAN(AFRICAN) N NOT WESTERNS. SO,BRING UP A TOPIC DAT SOMEONE CAN LEARN 4RM N NOT UNNECESSARY TOPIC COS NOBODY IS WILLING TO CHANGE NAME HERE Posted: at 4-09-2008 04:36 PM (15 years ago) | Gistmaniac | |

E-star at 14-09-2008 01:52 AM (15 years ago) (f) I don't think there is anything wrong with such names as : patience, endurance, blessing, even prosperity!!! unless when people start calling their children objects which pple don't usually do anyway! as for the names mentioned, they are good, beacuse they reflect the positive things that the parent is sayin/praying for the child!!! Even traditionals names have meanings like that! eg Ebunoluwa means God's gift!! Anything wro ng wit that?? ...didn't think so! As 4 d unisex names like Uche, OLuwaToyin, Tosin...etc...so what ??
