KUALA LUMPUR: A direct-selling dealer surrendered to the police today over a threat to kill Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

The 33-year-old man surrendered himself at the Cheras District Police headquarters at 9.30 am, said Cheras Police chief ACP Mohan Singh Tara Singh.

"The suspect came alone and surrendered. We sent him to the Dang Wangi District Police headquarters for a statement to be recorded," he told reporters.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man hailed from Negeri Sembilan and was living in Melaka, he said, adding that the man had no criminal record.
