British actor and comedian Russell Brand has been denied entry into South Africa twice by authorities. Brand was heading to Johannesburg from his early Friday Dublin concert to meet hisMessiah Complex Tour on Friday, Nov. 15, but was reportedly refused access to the fight by authorities.
According to his publicist, Debra de Souza, Brand was denied access to the plane because ‘he did not have two free pages in his passport’, which is the minimum needed to enter the country.
The actor and comedian was forced to cancel his gig in the South African capital on Friday night. Reports claim that as his team got busy, trying to find a way to get him there, Brand had to cancel his next show on Saturday 16th November.
Tweeting about the incident, Russell said: “Tonight’s J-burg show cancelled. SA authorities REFUSE TO LET ME INTO YOUR COUNTRY. Trying to resolve it.”
There’s no report yet if the actor will successfully make it to Jo’burg tonight. If we get a hint, we’ll keep y’all posted.
