The Catholic Bishop of Nnewi, Most Rev. Dr. Hilary Odili Okeke urged Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State not to quit politics after the Governor’s had said he was done with politics since March 17, 2014.

In Okeke's opinion, people of Anambra State, Igbos and Nigerians should pray that Obi would rescind his decision as people like him should have the opportunity of serving Nigerians at the centre in view of his exceptional performance in Anambra State.
Bishop Okeke received a cheque of N100 million from Obi on Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala for ongoing projects at the Hospital, as well as another cheque of N30 million for the Maternity and child care complex at Azigbo.
The Bishop also praised Obi for keeping his words and using money meant for the state for the provision of infrastructure in the state.
It would be recalled that two days ago, the Governor also presented a cheque of N100 million to Archbishop Valerian Okeke for on going work at St. Charles Borromeo Hospital Onitsha.
According to his words, other hospitals in strategic partnership with the Government of Anambra State will receive theirs as part of the “final push” by his Government towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals by the year 2015.

if the governor is spending so much to build or renovate the hospitals that might be of benefit to the citizens, just like he is doing there is absolutely no crime in that,, thats is if the pastor and the bishop use the money judiciously,,,, but advising him to stay in politics isnt a good thing,, let other new brains and new people take mantle of the leadership,,, governorship or political post shouldnt  be a life long thing or  hereditary,,,
