News just reaching us is that there has been an accident and explosion that has left a 14-seater bus burning towards the end of Third Mainland bridge (Inward Iyana-Oworo). According to eye witnesses, the vehicle lost control because of overload, somersaulted and caught fire.

There have been a few injured passengers but thankfully no lost lives reported. The explosion has caused a terrible traffic hold-up towards the end of the bridge. Residents around the area can be seen using water from the Lagoon in attempts to put out the fire and road safety officers have reportedly been sighted at the accident location.

Lagosians are advised to take alternative routes to avoid the traffic and reduce congestion on that route.
