I will appreciate if people undertake proper investigation before they speak,
Mgbidi tradition forbids people from time immemorial from killing Phytons and fishing from the Obana river, nobody worships any snake in mgbidi, most mgbidi people are christians. The socalled priest does not represent up to 1percent of mgbidi people.
If you visit Rome please respect their culture, I was in UK for some years and there were things we were forbidden from doing for instance you do not hurt any animal be it pigeon, lizard, dogs etc. does it mean they worship the animals.
In Orogun in Delta state nobody is allowed to kill Iguana, so many communities have thhings that are forbidden so why paint a wrong picture about Mgbidi.Travel out and see that every culture have taboos everywhere in the world if you like don't obey sometimes and incure the wrath of the indegenes and their gods.
How many shrines have you seen in Mgbidi and where did you see snake worshippers in Mgbidi? Have yo been to Mgbidi before?
For those who do not know Mgbidi is not hidden it is a busy town on the way between Owerri and Onitsha kind of midway and it is a boundary town between Anambra and Imo State, it is a gateway to Orlu, Oguta and so many other prominent towns in Imo and Anambra State.
People even kill Phytons in Mgbidi and not get embarassed by any one but I bet you go to Orogun area and kill Iguana and see if you will leave the community alive.
