Samba Queen, Stella Monye is allegedly down with Emphysema, a disease caused by a lot of mucus that accumulates in the lungs and results in lung cancer if not treated.

According to online reports, “the singer has been secretly battling with the problem since 2008,  but it grew worse recently due to improper management. She is presently trying to raise money from friends and family for the surgery and drugs.

Furthermore, the singer who currently lives in a rented apartment around U-turn, Abule Egba, Lagos might also be selling off a property she acquired three years ago in Lagos to raise fund for her treatment.



Stella, known for bad smoking habit was one of the singers that started with the late Christy Essien, King Sunny Ade, Onyeka Onwenu and others in the 80’s .
