New York police arrested nine protesters outside the Nigerian Consulate on Friday, after they blocked its entrance during a demonstration against the anti-gay bill signed to law by President Goodluck Jonathan in January.

The group was part of several LGBT advocacy organisations based in New York that participated in the Global Day of Action against the law. Similar demonstrations were held in other cities including London, UK and Vancouver, Canada.

About 100 protesters gathered across the road from the consulate, carrying placards and Nigerian flags. The group that was arrested crossed the road and sat in a semicircle outside the consulate door, with their elbows interlocked.

Mujahid Dokubo-Asari who has been excited over National Dialogue has warned against provocation. The leader of Niger Delta People Volunteer Force (NDPVF) who is currently resident of Benin Republic because he rejected the entity called Nigeria has been talking on social media about the National dialogue. Asari Dokubo as he is popularly called wrote today on Facebook that:
“I come carrying the white flag of peace through the immediate convocation of Sovereign National Conference in one hand…,and the rifle of an angry man in the other…Please don’t allow the white flag to fall from my hand.”
Dokubo has severally told the press that there will be trouble if Goodluck Jonathan was not allowed to continue in 2015. This is because he said the ‘Gambaris’, that is Hausa/Fulanis, have ruled since 1960 and he does know why they are pilling up pressure on Goodluck Jonathan, an Ijaw man not to contest in 2015. Right now Mr. Goodluck Jonathan’s party is divided, with mostly Northern Nigerian governors forming the New PDP.

At least being  in New York they are safe from the "honest God fearing, sinless" Nigerians who are good at "casting the first stone!"
