Gov. Peter Obi of Anambra on Thursday presented
N1 million each to 160 first class graduates of the
state to enable them to be established in their
chosen careers.

Addressing the graduates in Awka on Thursday, Obi
said the gesture was a way of encouraging hard
work among students and youths in the state.

The governor also used the occasion to distribute 55
school buses to 55 secondary schools, saying it was
part of the final push in the education sector.

He further inaugurated the distribution of more than
200 transformers to various communities as well as
two fire trucks to the state fire service.

Obi assured that his successor, Mr Willie Obiano,
would sustain the gesture and called on the people
of the state to support the in-coming administration.
Earlier, the state Commissioner for Education, Dr
Uju Okeke, commended the governor for the
transformation so far witnessed in the education
sector.

She said that Obi’s administration had so far
distributed about N2.8 billion to the Catholic
mission schools and about N2 billion to Anglican
mission schools.

WELL DONE ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT.

BUT, GIVING THEM MONEY IS NOT THE ISSUE. ON THE CONTRARY, BOTH THE STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS SHOULD FORCE ALL THE MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES OPERATING IN NIGERIA TO OFFER JOBS TO BOTH FIRST CLASS STUDENTS AND OTHER STUDENTS.

THE OIL COMPANIES, PRODUCTION COMPANIES, SERVICES COMPANIES, MANUFACTURING COMPANIES, BIG TIME CONGLOMERATES AND OTHER BIG FOREIGN COMPANIES OPERATING IN NIGERIA MAKE HUGE PROFITS WITH LOW TAX RATES EXPLOITING OUR GOD EVENING RESOURCES ALMOST FOR FREE, BUT IN THEIR COUNTRIES THEY CAN NEVER OFFER NIGERIANS EVEN THE LEAST PAYING JOBS.

THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THESE COMPANIES MAKE IN NIGERIA IN A DAY, IN 10-20 YEARS THEY CAN'T MAKE SUCH AMOUNT OF MONEY IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES WITH HIGH TAX RATES.

THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT MUST PASS A LAW OBLIGATING FOREIGN COMPANIES IN NIGERIA TO INSTANTANEOUSLY OFFER NIGERIAN CITIZENS EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, PARTICULARLY NIGERIAN GRADUATES.

IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES OVERSEAS THAT IS HOW IT IS DONE AND THAT IS HOW THEY CHECK AND BALANCE THEIR UNEMPLOYMENT RATE.

THEY MUST PRACTICE SAME IN NIGERIA THEN WE WILL BE EVEN. WE CAN'T BE SLAVES IN OUR OWN MOTHERLAND.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES HELPS TO REDUCE CRIME RATE AND CIVIL DISTURBANCES OF YOUTHS.
