TECHNOLOGY HASNT INCREASED ONLY IN THE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES BUT AFRICA AS WELL. WITH A COMPUTER AND ACCESS TO THE INTERNET, ONE CAN DO A LOT OF THINGS ONLINE TO MAKE EASY MONEY.

And information reaching www.gistclub,com from a reliable source this morning shows that, suspected internet fraudsters have reportedly hacked into Ogun State-owned mortgage bank, Gateway Savings and Loans Limited, and stole millions of Naira.

However, the men of Ogun State Police Command are investigating the multi-million Naira fraud.

It was gathered that the internet fraud prompted a team of armed mobile policemen to storm the branch of Skye Bank Plc, located in Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, on Friday.

The security operatives reportedly arrived the bank premises about 4:30pm with an armoured personnel carrier and some patrol vans and threatened to whisk the bank manager and some staff away.

Sources said that  the  team was led by the Senior Special Adviser on Security to Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

The source further said that  customers , especially those who had wanted to use the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) within the bank premises took to their heels while sighting the  policemen.

It was learnt that the bank staff engaged the policemen in argument and were reluctant to release their manager for about two hours.

An official of the bank, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that a senior official was later taken to the Ibara Divisional Police Station, Abeokuta to write a statement.

It was also gathered that the bank official was released immediately he wrote his statement while some other officials of the Gateway Savings and Loans Limited have also been quizzed.

The state Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, could not be reached yesterday for comments on the alleged fraud.

But in a telephone interview with our correspondent  the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, confirmed the incident.

It is very sad that this can happen in our world. After all, in fact, the money was taken from ordinary people who paid for the mortgage. It seems that now the bank will demand additional money from them. On the other hand, this is a bank security problem. And it's their own fault that their system security is at zero level since some hackers were able to hack their bank and take all the money for themselves. Such news frightens me because I recently issued only a mortgage with Mortgage Broker Essex, without which I could not do anything, and reading such news is scary, haha.
