EBOLA SCARE: Primary And Secondary Schools' Resumption Postponed Till October 13

The Federal Government of Nigeria announced that all primary and secondary schools in the country will resume on October 13th, 2014 in a precautionary measure to ensure that the Ebola outbreak has been contained by time children resume school.

 The Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekarau announced the new resumption date after a marathon meeting with all the 36 state Commissioners of Education in Abuja on Tuesday evening.

Shekarau, who briefed journalists after the meeting, said all private schools in the country should also comply with the directive.He added that schools should suspend their summer programmes with immediate effect.

This decision did not need a "marathon meeting" - its basic common sense to keep ALL schools on an extended holiday recess!

ANGESCO I DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE STATEMENT......IT MIGHT BE MARATHON IN THE SENSE THAT, SO MANY OF THEM ARE PRIVATE SCHOOL OWNERS AND OF COURSE YOU KNOW WHAT IT TAKES WHEN YOU PAYS A TEACHER WHEN THE PERSON IS AT HOME AND THE ISSUES OF SUSPENDING SUMMER LESSON THAT COULD ALSO GENERATE MONEY TO THEIR COFFERS....GOVERNMENT HAVE TO DIALOGUE AND PERSUADE WITH THEM TO SEE GENUINE REASON OF DOING SO.......GUESS THAT IS IS WHERE THE WORD MARATHON COMES IN ANYWAY
