Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola today visited the site of the collapsed building inside the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Ikotun. He commiserated with the church founder, Prophet T.B Joshua and also ordered all church workers to stop work on the site to enable officials of the Nigerian Emergency Management Authority work effectively.

Meanwhile, the Lagos state Commissioner for Physical planning, Mr Toyin Ayinde, revealed that the 5-storey building had no government approval for its construction.

Speaking to newsmen at the site today, the state Commissioner said records in his office shows that no permit was handed to the civil engineers for the building to be erected but said he was awaiting the church engineers to present the building permit they were given to erect the collapsed building.

I wouldn't have believe if someone would speculate T.B Joshua would relate the unfortunate incident with Nigerian millitary jet disappearance .God! It shows the level of our role model IQ and crisis management ability as a leader.Very unfortunate ,sad and ridiculous to relate his failure with BH insurgency. This type of attitude should be punished as the man of God was spreading rumours and fears that threathened the security facilities in Lagos state.

Of course, you will never get any approval. But then, where have the relevant authorities been since the
construction work started until its collapse? Both parties should go and bury their faces in shame. For a two
story building to have suddenly metamorphosed to a 5 story building without any adequate foundation, most
probably, was only begging for the time we are in now and for what we have seen. So where is the theory of terror attack?
God have mercy.

If the building is on the flight path of aircraft coming to land in Lagos there is nothing unusual seeing planes flying over the area. The picture of the small plane shown in the CCTV should convince reasonable Nigerians that vibration from such aircraft can not bring down a modern building where other rickety structures still stand. Putting 2 more floors on a structure that was designed to hold only the existing structure without Expert's input is a recipe for disaster.
