The Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Yero, has asked the National Assembly to consider passing a legislation that would compel policy makers in the country to enroll their children in public schools, stressing that’s one of the ways our education system can get better.

The Governor made this statement at a reception for the members of the House of Representatives Committee on Education at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House today in Kaduna.
He emphasized it was time senior government officials enrolled their children in public schools in order to improve the system.

“For me, we should spend more resources on education because it is only through education that we can get to where we want to be as a nation,” he said.

Good idea but then, government officials will start hiding their children. If this idea can be passed to law it will go a long way to transform our educational system.
