Yvonne Jegede in an exclusive interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly said she does expose her cleavage on the street and only does that for photo shoots, she still went ahead to say if she exposes her boobs, it's nobody's business because it's her body and she feels comfortable with that but that wouldn't make her to walk naked on the street. She also said she will get married when God says so.

What is new about you career wise?
I have been working from location to location. I have been very busy. I haven’t had three to four days rest at a stretch. It has been from one location to another. I am not complaining. It is what I actually wanted. I have been lucky, a lot of people will take such a long break and they will find it really hard to get back. I have been lucky. I am booked from now till December 18. I cannot take any other job until I am done with the ones I have been booked for. I will also start my own production outfit, though I will be collaborating with other people for now.
How soon will that be?
It will be after I am done with all the workload piled up for me. It might be in December.
How will you describe your career since you came back in 2012?
2012 was really slow. I only did three or four jobs. 2013 was much better, this year has been crazy. I have not had time to go on holiday like three, four times. I want to go in December. I don’t think that will work out with the workload waiting for me.
How many movies have you featured in since you came back?
Let me say about 20. I have done so much.
Do you think you would have gone ahead of some people if you didn’t take a break?
Of course, I would have. Then again, entertainment has no age limit. Even at 80, as long as I am strong and I can walk upright I can still act. Everything is a gradual process. I guess when I came out was not really my own time. I believe, destiny will find you, however, you want to hide. I just woke up one morning and said, I need to go to school. Now, I am back and ready, the jobs are coming.
Why did you decide to school abroad?
When I went to Lagos State University, I stayed for three years studying Law and left. I left because I was acting, I had option to go to the University of Ghana, but Ghana is just 45 minutes away, I will still be distracted, I will still take up roles. So, I opted for something really far away that will make me sit down and focus on getting a proper education. Now, I can beat my chest and say that I am a graduate. I have my certificate and I graduated with a very good score. I think I have achieved half of all I want to achieve, my production outfit will soon kick off and my career is doing well too.
Why didn’t you study anything related to your career?
I wanted something that I can fall back on when I get old. I don’t mind going to the court room when I get old.
Are you in anyway threatened because your colleagues you left behind are ahead of you career wise?
You are there, you have fame, money, good for you. I have a degree, I still have the opportunity to be what I want to be. I think I am one of the best actresses. Whatever it is that they have achieved, I can also achieve, even better. I still respect them because they are my senior colleagues, but it doesn’t change the fact that I am Yvonne Jegede. I still do my best whenever I am on set.
How easy was it to blend back into the industry?
It wasn’t easy, a lot of people said face cannot sell movie, some will even ask if I can still act. It was one or two people that have been using me. Information travels far when you are on set, that is how a producer kept on giving others my contact. If anybody should call and ask about the movie they were shooting and the cast, they will give me referral, that was how the word went around and people kept on calling.
What are the challenges peculiar to you?
There have been a lot of challenges, the industry has changed with different people around, a lot of people are coming in with different techniques. It is quite good because it makes you want to work harder. If they give you a role and you are not ready to take the role, someone is there who is ready to take it from you. But I love the challenge, it makes me want to do better.
Are there improvements, looking back to where Nollywood was before you left and where you met it?
It is a lot better, the picture quality is a lot better. People are no more going into Nollywood because their brother is a director, they actually go to learn the act.
You weren’t exposing your boobs before you travelled, we were shocked at the transformation?
I don’t expose my cleavage, it was a photo shoot. You don’t see me walking on the street with my cleavage hanging out. It was a photo shoot. I felt I have some features that people should know of. Even with that, some people still believe that she has a lot of boobs but no behind, that is wrong. I am coming out to showcase. I think the older I get, the more comfortable I am in my skin. You get secured, more confident with age. If I feel very comfortable showing off my curves, my cleavage, excuse me, it is my body. But I will not walk around naked. I wear whatever I am comfortable with.
There was a rumour that you have found love, his name is Tom. How true is it?
Funny enough, I don’t think I have ever met any man called Tom. I have never met anyone called Tom. I heard it and I was shocked as well. I don’t know who formed it.
They even said you were getting married?
No, that is not true
How soon are you getting married?
As soon as God says it is time. Man proposes, everything is in the Hands of God.
