The Federal Government yesterday said it was yet to reach a ceasefire agreement with the Boko Haram sect.

Reports reaching GISTMANIA says that briefing State House correspondents after the Council of State meeting at the Presidential Villa, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Akpabio said that the National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) presented a report to the Council on the current war against the insurgents as well as efforts to rescue the Chibok girls abducted in April.
He said:

“The NSA was of the opinion that high level contact with the Republic of Chad was made and that some persons who acted on behalf of Boko Haram and who claimed to have authority also had discussions with them and there are some Nigerian officials with them and of course, no agreement has been reached yet, it is just that the press probably misunderstood what was reported, the discussions are on-going.”

Akpabio noted that what came out of the NSA briefings was that the President would do everything possible to ensure the release of the Chibok schoolgirls and the protection of lives and property. That Council was satisfied that the defence ministry and all the security agencies have taken the right steps to combat insurgency in the country.

According to him, the Council urged Nigerians to be patient, stressing that the issue of insurgency could be easily resolved.

I have never seen a confused country like ours before !!!  Dr. Doyin Okupe  said cease fire agreement has been reached between FG and Boko haram, i listened to the news with my hears and i saw Dr. Doyin Okupe with my eyes on BBC, CNN and Al- Jazeera news when he said, the cease fire agreement has been reached.
Now another group of FG said "no agreement has been reached yet, it is just that the press probably misunderstood what was reported, the discussions are on-going.”
In October 18 2014,  Vanguard Newspaper ( Nigeria Newspaper) said:
"The Nigerian Government yesterday said it has reached a ceasefire deal with the Boko Haram sect to halt all confrontations with the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex issuing a directive to the service chiefs of the Army, Navy, Airforce and Inspector General of Police to comply with the ceasefire agreement in all theatres of operations.
In a telephone chat with Saturday Vanguard, Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade confirmed that the Chief of Defence Staff’s directive to service chiefs to respect the ceasefire agreement has been received at the various services headquarters.
The deal was also confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe yesterday"
who is fooling who !!!!!! what a shame............
