Political violence continues to spread across the country as the immediate past caretaker Chairman of Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of Ekitii state, Alhaji Azeez Awolokun, was attacked by some political thugs Wednesday evening. Awolokun, a chieftain of the APC disclosed that suspected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) thugs invaded his home towm in Igede-Ekiti at about 5.30pm, unleashing terror on the people and his household.
He said the thugs who were heavily armed came in two Toyota Hilux vehicles and a PDP branded bus with the poster of a House of Representatives candidate , raising dust in the Ilamoye area of Igede.
The APC chieftain said his 82-year-old mother was not spared in the attack as the thugs allegedly beat her to stupor after they had beaten him and other members of the household. Awolokun disclosed that all the posters and billboards of APC candidates were vandalized by the hoodlums.

“In fact, we have information that some of us have been pencilled down for arrest before the election day and any moment from now, they will be picking us one after the other.”
