Suspected militants from Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram have hijacked a bus in northern Cameroon, abducting at least 20 people, then executed 12 of them, a security source and resident said Monday.



Militants reportedly seized a bus carrying market-goers and drove it toward the border with Nigeria.

Some reports put the total number kidnapped in Cameroon as high as 30.

Boko Haram has escalated its attacks outside Nigeria in recent weeks, targeting neighbouring Cameroon and Niger.

The insurgency has forced a postponement of Nigeria’s presidential and parliamentary elections from 14 February to 28 March.

The bus was seized near the border area of Koza and driven towards the Nigerian border 18km (11 miles) away, a resident told the Associated Press news agency.

It will be recalled that the dreaded Boko Haram sect has released another video mocking the recent regional alliance by Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger to successfully defeat the terrorist group.

The sect released three different videos on Sunday, February 8.

But I thought our so-called military said they've joined forces & are on the offensive? Why are there still news of these blood suckers killing & maiming innocent ppl? Hmmm... Liars! Both our Federal Govt, the army & the PDP party are liars! liars!! liars!!! This news is annoying me. Ppl dying in their thousands, are they the cause of this boko haram insurgence? Our government let this happen when they did nothing for their ppl & then became too afraid to nip it in the bud after it had started.
