I have been wondering how effective is the vow, 'for better and for worse', in nowadays marriage where divorce cases are the bane of 21st century marriagies. Should that vow be scraped in a marriage vow?

At times u hear the story about ladies who vowed for better and for worse, only to change the rhythm of the music as things become worse; should these ladies be trusted in future relationships?

Its as effective as when you want your marriage to be enjoyable,i mean,if you want peace, progress and prosperity in your marriage then you should take that vow very seriously.

the vow is supposed to be there forever...its just the people who are taking the vows that are not fulfilling it...

It's unfortunate some people do no longer keep to the vows the took before God, What a pity that we take God for granted

i think both are decieving themselves in the presence of God.. really irresponsible people do this, just like Toks E wrote earlier.

I wonder why is like that nowadays.

there's no problem with the vow. the problem is with couples these days. the vow should remain and couples should be scrapped.

I suppose not the couples, but it's the spouse who renege the vow that should be scrapped

Humble y are u always attackin ladies? ah! anyways, b4 u take wed her, ask God to tell things about your partner. u r not just takin a vow bcos u love her, the vow is stronger than any mountain, and its for God not for her. takin that vow means that u r not goin to disapppoint God for makin the two u = 1. no matter to condition the two of found yourselves in, u r not goin to break the vow. u will make variety of mistakes, quarrel, etc...but still u two r like an unseparatable ocean. so my dear, no matter how u love her, seek God ist. am sure u will live your life to the fullest. dont just jump into it, if u dont wat the Creator of the vow means. God said its not good a man to stand alone!
