Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State yesterday said despite the recurring visitation of President Goodluck Jonathan to Lagos in recent times, Lagosians will massively vote against him in the March 28, 2015, presidential election, adding that Jonathan was never there for the people when they needed him most.
Fashola said this yesterday at the reignited All Progressives Congress, APC, rally held in Ifako-Ijaye.
According to Fashola, Jonathan was nowhere to be found when things were made difficult for the people of Lagos by the Federal Government.
The governor also urged Lagosians to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, saying the PVCs were very strategic, if the people must have a say in the coming elections.
Addressing the enchanted crowd of loyalists, party supporters and well-wishers, the governor said about 3.6m PVCs were brought to Lagos, out of which about 2.2 had so far been collected.
He said another window of opportunity would open today for residents without cards, to go and collect their PVCs as INEC returns the cards back to polling units. The collection exercise will run from today (Friday) till Sunday.
Fashola told the people that all projects around the Ifako-Ijaye area — the Maternal and Child Centre, MCC, two new schools, Yaya Abatan street among others — “were made possible by your voters cards, votes and taxes”.
He added that all complaints about the Federal Government and mismanagement of the economy would only come to an end when they collect their PVCs and vote in the coming elections.

In several states in the North, whenever the VP gets on the stage to speak, he talks about how he is a devout Muslim who has sponsored so many to Mecca. Recently, he has taken to telling his audience that whereas Buhari was the only major Muslim in the APC end, Pres. Jonathan is the only major Christian in the PDP side of things, which means that the PDP is the party that is most suited to cater to the needs of Northerners. SO Pupils commenting that BUHARI is and bokoharam..in our own taught..what does this mean to us..!! they never talk about any strategy to make this country going forward..either they blame..government of the past... or telling us about religion..or telling us lies...on what they did not achieve for good 6yrs..in Office!! Fuel Subsidy...Scam!! 30Trillion missing!! promissing but not fulfilling of electricity problems..Agricultural scam! i so much beleived that pupils support GEJ and PDP.this are pupils that there family are of beneficiary of this Corrupt President!!..Change is Coming!! Federal Government of stalling the construction of the $1.354 billion Lekki Deep Seaport, saying “FG failed to fulfill its own side of the agreement.” Lagos state are building the Lekki Deep Sea port, the investors have brought their own share of the required fund and Lagos State Government has provided the land. But it is saddening that the federal government has failed to fulfill its own side of the bargain which was to providing $117 million of the total cost of the project.” He added, “Rather than handover this fund for this project which will create employment, Federal Government was busy transferring the fund elsewhere. So Gej has failed the Lagosian...we need change....
