The presidential candidate of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), is to depart London shortly for Abuja, Nigeria on British Airways Flight #083.

According to the SaharaReportes’ sources, after nearly 10 days in UK, Buhari is expected to arrive in Abuja early on Friday at 5:45 a.m.

Reportedly the APC doesn’t plan any major airport ceremony to herald Buhari’s return as his arrival will be too early. However, a close source said he will be returning to the campaign train right away. It would be recalled that he visited 16 states before his trip to the United Kingdom.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had made Buhari’s absence a major campaign issue, claiming that he went to London because of health issues, however, Buhari defied the rumors and made a working trip to Chatham House to deliver a heartwarming speech last week.

During his speech, Buhari laughed of any notion of illness, thereby forcing the PDP to seek a new strategy.

The SaharaReporters informs that President Goodluck Jonathan has allegedly given up on a plan to prevent the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from using card readers in the elections.

That had emerged after another plan, to boost the PDP’s chances by sacking INEC chair Attahiru Jega failed when the United States and the European Union told President Jonathan that he will be sent to the International Criminal Court should his plan to manipulate the elections cause bloodletting in Nigeria.
