Two hundred and eight prisoners and 192 visually impaired persons will be among the total of 1,475,477 candidates, for the 2015 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) Computer Based Test (CBT).
Student Pulse gathered that the inmates are from the Kaduna and Ikoyi prisons.
The CBT tests, conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB),will hold from Tuesday, 10th of March 10 and Saturday 21st of March and will be conducted in 400 centres in Nigeria
It will also hold within the same date in 7 other countries which are South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana, Republic of Benin, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Cameroon.
The total of 1,475,477 candidates shows a slump in enrolment, down from 1,632,172 in 2014.
According to JAMB's Registrar and Chief Executive, Dibu Ojerinde, the shortfall in enrolment could be attributed to  "prevailing insecurity in parts of the north" which has seen the three most affected states, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe register only "15,692; 15,613 and 10,044 candidates respectively" a far cry from states like Imo which "has the highest number of applicants with 104,381."
"Owing to the prevailing insecurity in parts of the north, states such as Zamfara, Adamawa, Borno, Niger, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Taraba had very low patronage in terms of candidates' application," Ojerinde said,
"The effect of insecurity can be seen in the rate of registration especially in the North East.
Ojerinde said the visually impaired would use the Braillenote Apex Computer to write the examination.
He asked candidates to arrive at their test centres on time.
