French President, Francois Hollande, has invited President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to Paris for bilateral talks.

The French embassy, in a statement in Abuja yesterday, said the country is desirous of expanding trade between both countries.

It disclosed that the French leader, in a telephone conversation, congratulated Buhari on his success and noted the generally smooth electoral process, had solidified Nigeria’s democracy.

“The French head of state assured the President-elect of France’s wish to continue the close relationship that existed with his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan and reiterated France’s support for Nigeria and its neighbors in their efforts to combat the terrorist sect, Boko Haram,” the statement added.

This new president does not have out seeking for foreign investors. They are inviting him. What a change of circumstances. And just to think that the man has 2 months to get into office. The former president can now see what caused his failure.
