Reports emanating from Katsina indicate that the Emir of the state, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, has suffered a major setback.
According to a report by Leadership, the untimely death of Zainab Abdulmumini Kabir, the daughter of Emir Kabir Usman has been recorded.
The late Zainab died at an Indian hospital after a brief illness at the age of 17 and has been buried according to Islamic rites.
A palace official who chose to remain anonymous, described her death as a rude shock adding “it is Allah who give and he has taken so we must give glory to him under all circumstances.”
It was gathered that scores of sympathizer have continued to troop into the Katsina Emir’s Palace to offer condolence to the mourning royal family.
Among the sympathizers was a delegation from Katsina state government led by the state deputy governor, Abdullahi Garba Faskari.
Abdulmumini Kabir Usman is the emir of Katsina and chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University. He is the 50th emir of Katsina chronologically and the 4th from Sullubawa dynasty succeeding his father Muhammadu Kabir Usman.
