History will be made this weekend as the Kuti brothers; Seun and Femi,  perform together in a live musical concert for the first time ever in their musical careers.

The famous duo, who are sons of the late legendary Afrobeat creator, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, will be headlining ‘2 Kings’, a musical concert sponsored by leading telecommunications service provider, Airtel Nigeria.

The show, which is slated to hold at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island today, will feature red carpet with top-notch media blitz befitting a five-star event and is expected to attract top players in the industry, stakeholders, members of the diplomatic corps, and the crème-de-la-crème of the society.
In addition, the launch of Seun Kuti’s seven-track album, ‘A Long Way to the Beginning,’ will form a major highlight of this epic event which not only pays tribute to the great works of Fela, but also echoes the popularity of this genre of music in Nigeria and beyond.

The Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Mr. Maurice Newa, explained that the telco is committed to enriching the lives of its customers  by living their passion and bringing them activities that will continually put smiles on their faces.

He said: “In line with its commitment to continually delight Nigerians, Airtel is proud to be part of this historic event which brings together two leading figures in the Nigerian music industry. This is the first time ever, Nigerians will be witnessing this collaboration and we are proud to be a part of it because we definitely know this will bring smiles to the faces of Nigerians.”

He further reiterated that the telco will continue to support platforms that will provide entertainment and enhance talent development in the country.

Femi is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most popular musicians and has been nominated for the prestigious Grammy award four times in the world music category while Seun, the youngest son of Fela, is fast changing the face of Afrobeat music. Both have recorded monumental successes on international stage, following in the direction of their father’s musical accomplishments.

The concert, which will be hosted by top presenter, Olisa Adibua, will feature additional performances from notable Nigerian entertainers who will add fun and glamour to the event.
