Last weekend, Aaron Dunigan, 18, a promising quarter back from Illinois’ Thornton Fractional North High School who had gotten a scholarship to play football at Southern Illinois University tragically died in a car crash last weekend.
On Wednesday, Katherine Jackson, mother of Aaron Dunigan attended her son’s graduation ceremony and accepted her son’s diploma. Jackson never graduated from High School.
she said
Mike Crowter, a friend of Dunigan who was in the car crash who attended the ceremony in a wheelchair stood and embraced Dunigan’s mother.
Katherine Jackson said she is not angry at the driver of the car, and holds no resentment towards him. “I want to hold him and let him know that Aaron loves him too. It’s nobody’s fault.”
Aaron Dunigan was on his way from prom when the car he was in crashed into a truck. The accident left the truck driver dead while Mike Crowter who was in Aaron’s car was badly injured.
The driver of the car David Peden was charged with DUI for causing death and reckless homicide with a motor vehicle.
