Thugs Beat Up Mother, Kill Her 2 Year Old In The Process In Ondo

Some thugs allegedly beat up a woman, who was identified simply as Beatrice, and smashed her two-year-old baby against the floor, killing the toddler at the Bajare Camp in the Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Witnesses said that the thugs attacked Beatrice on the instruction of a middle-aged woman, identified simply as Toyin, following a disagreement between the women.
One of the witnesses said the disagreement between Toyin and Beatrice led to a free-for-all. He added that Toyin left the scene and came back with some thugs who she allegedly ordered to beat up Beatrice.

He said:
“During the scuffle, the baby boy, who was strapped to his mother’s back was smashed against the floor by one of the thugs, leading to his death.”
It was gathered that the thugs immediately fled the area, while the toddler was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
 
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Wole Ogodo, explained that the mother of the baby reported the matter at the police station.
 
The suspect and her thugs have since been arrested.
 
Ogodo said investigation into the matter has started, adding that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the police finished their probe.
 
He said:
“People, who are having issues with one another should always cultivate the habit of reporting the case to the appropriate quarters for onward action rather than taking the law into their own hands.”
 The remains of the deceased baby has been deposited at the Alade Idanre General Hospital mortuary.
 
Poor baby. May his soul rest in peace.

People from that part of the country are so stubborn and can do anything when they are angry. They are usually blinded with fury to the extent that they won't mind any body. You can hardly persuade or appeal to them to stop being angry. They hardly listen and destructive. They will always say "We don't take shit." Why would the mother not mind her baby when such fight ensue? She probably would have told the thugs to do their worst if they threaten to harm the baby boy.and one thing will lead to another. then it goes. Please don't always consider the threat from the people of that town as empty threat otherwise you may have yourself to blame. I am speaking from experience.
