There was confusion along the Ife-Ilesa Expressway as drivers of luxurious buses on Monday barricaded the expressway in protest of the robbery incident which occurred on the road over the night. The angry drivers stated that some robbers took over the road since last night until the early hours of Monday morning, though it was not clear if any life was lost in the process. A motorist identified as Sanya who was trapped in the gridlock said the driver took over the road since 4am on Monday. The protesting drivers stressed that robbery cases were frequent on the road, insisting that the protest will continue until the state governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola addresses them. Sanya noted that the angry protesters drove away the policemen drafted to the area to restore normalcy and have demanded to see the commissioner of police. Sanya affrimed, ” We are close to 1000 vehicles trapped in the traffic snarl now. I have been here for over two hours and there is no exit road to take. We are stuck in the mess. “Many newspapers delivery vans are here before dawn and there is no way anybody can escape except the road is cleared.”

I think the govt house will be the idea place they should block, not the expressway...
