                                                                                                Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has told the BBC that the security forces have made progress in the fight against militant Islamist group Boko Haram.

Mr Buhari said the security forces wanted to make it "impossible for Boko Haram to regroup and capture towns or villages".

The military had been able to identify groups of people being held by Boko Haram in the Sambisa forest, but said it was not clear if any of them were the schoolgirls abducted from Chibok last year, he said.

Mr Buhari added he was confident that the security forces would defeat the insurgents within the three-month deadline he gave them but he admitted "it would take longer to counter the indoctrination and prevent the suicide bombings because the group has links with international terrorist groups".

Mr Buhari marked 100 days in office at the weekend after becoming the first opposition leader to take power in democratic elections in Nigeria...Source BBC..........
