My dear Insurance doesn't work in this manner. This is a deliberate act and in insurance law, deliberate actions are dealt with differently and in extreme cases, does not get any compensation. Insurance pays when its an accident due to fire, road or break-down that you as the owner didn't cause. He's angry over poor management services and as such displayed emotions (extreme anger) that he couldn't contain. I bet, if any staff had come up to stop him, that staff would have seen his ancestors by now. That's by the way, well the only thing I foresee here, is that he will sue the company for not acting or attending to his request or warranty/guarantee if his car is covered. However, driving such car means he is ready to confront the dealer in any manner. Good luck to him. I feel his pain.
