Earlier this morning, reports came through that a Starbow Airlines plane crash landed at the Tamale Airport. Reports indicate that the aircraft had problems after touching down, causing it to crash through a barricade mounted at the end of the runway. According to an eyewitness, the front landing gear of the plane broke and flew into the cockpit. National Security, Armed Forces, Airport Security and the Fire Service are currently at the airport investigating the incident. The CEO of the airline Mr. James Eric Antwi however says the plane did not crash land. He said that the flight had landed before it bumped into a ramp. A statement issued later on by the company described the incident as “minor” .
The statement issued by management of the airline
Quote
We have received notification that Starbow flight S9110, which was en-route from Accra to Tamale, has been involved in a minor incident today 6th October 2015. As a result, Starbow’s BAe aircraft with registration 9GSBB went through the barricade at the end of the Tamale runway and stopped. It is noteworthy that both the crew and the passengers were disembarked safely via the stairs. Our sincere concern goes out to all of the passengers, friends and families involved. We are still gathering the facts concerning the event. Starbow is cooperating fully with the Authorities in charge. We will inform the media of any significant additional information as soon as it becomes available.

The most important thing is that all the passengers are safe without harm or injury.
