Information gathered by our Correspondent revealed that the three were girls from Benin-City, the Edo State capital.
A source who spoke with LEADERSHIP on a telephone said that the trio of Jane, Kate and Blessing were some of the Nigerian girls dealing in prostitution .
Our source added that the deceased persons, together with their friend who escaped the attack (names witheld) on the fateful day, hired a driver to take them to Le Bourget, a city outside Paris in order to trade their bodies to male customers at a popular Club house(name witheld) where they usually did their prostitution work.
Investigation revealed that the driver, a Togolese, drove them to the Club house and promised to take them back to their various houses after they had reached an agreement to pay him 200 Euros.
Trouble, however, started when one of the deceased accused the driver of keeping them in the cold till 5 a.m instead of the 3 a.m earlier agreed upon and all the explanations from the driver to make them understand the reason for his lateness fell on deaf ears.
This lateness, Leadership gathered, made the girls decide not to pay the full 200 Euros they earlier agreed to pay the driver, a decision thatreportedly roused the beast in him.
All his efforts to get his full payment from the girls at the Club house proved abortive as the girls were said to have shouted at him and threatened to hand him over to the Police for conveying prostitutes to where they work, an act that is against the French law.
Realising that the girls would put him in trouble if he refused to take them out of the Club house, the driver reportedly asked them to enter into the cab and set to go home, unknown to the deceased that he had a deadly plan against them.
Leadership further gathered that the angry driver drove the three girls and their friend to a thick bush very close to the Club house in Le Bourget where he allegedly engaged them in a deadly fight and consequently stabbed three of them to death while one of them escaped.
Information has it that all the efforts made by the Togolese driver to find the fourth girl proved futile as she was said to have disappeared into thin air.
Our source said that the driver's whereabouts remained unknown as at the time of filing this report and that all efforts to locate him by Nigerians in the city were unsuccessful.
An official of Nigerian Embassy who spoke to our Correspondent on condition of anonymity, confirmed the tragic occurrence but declined to give any further information about it because the Embassy had not been officially briefed.
He added that no official step would be taken until it was officially informed.
Our Correspondent, in his spirited efforts to get Police comment, made several telephone calls to the police station in Paris but could not get through.
