Police Gun Down Man Who Reportedly Killed Three People Over Food Poison In Edo State

The police in Benin have confirmed the death of three persons who were allegedly shot dead by a middle aged man identified as Onana Osua. Osua who was said to have shot six persons over alleged food poison, was finally gunned down after he allegedly attacked a police patrol team.

The incident occurred at Uromi, Esan North East local government area of the state.‎ The late Osua who was admitted at an undisclosed hospital for food poisoning, reportedly left his hospital bed, went home, took his gun and went to the homes of people he suspected to be responsible for poisoning him and shot them dead.

It was gathered that Osua who was said to be the chairman of a motor park in Uromi town, allegedly killed the wife of one of his target who was not at home when he arrived at his residence.

Sources said Osua fled to Ubiaja in Esan south-west where he reportedly shot at a patrol team before he was gunned down.
Edo Police spokesman, DSP Abiodun Osifo, who confirmed the report, said Osua went on a killing spree before the police stopped him.
He however said three of the victims were confirmed dead while others are at critical condition in the hospital.
Osifo explained that Osua shot at a police team who were already aware of his killing spree before the police fired back.

Osua definitely had mental issues... For poisoning doesn't always mean someone poisoned your food to kill you, the food could probably have gone bad before it was cooked, vegetables in particular. I remember years back my friend Kelly suddenly started feeling feverish while we were chilling and it got even more serious, we rushed him to the hospital. After check ups, doctor told we his friends that Kelly's situation was somewhat critical and it was as a result of food poisoning. All shocked at the shocking news, we all started to wonder in our minds, who was trying to kill Kelly? Was it one of us or his step mum, that night we all went home with that question heavily on our minds. Until the next day when Kelly's sister explained the situation to us. Oh my, how relieved we were at that point...
